iOS App Security – Backgrounding screenshot
0Every time security of apps comes up in any conversation it turns out a lot of people are unaware of this being an issue at all. Simple things like the screenshot iOS takes every time your app gets backgrounded are not the common knowledge I expected it to be by now. In this blog post I wanted to share a few things I learned during a course by Ken van Wyk.
First of all, a must have is Macroplants iExporer. This will let you browse any connected iDevice, including some of the data that gets stored within the apps on the device. Using this tool to have a look at the apps your have built will show you what data is easily accessible for anyone who can hookup the device to their computer. (Spoiler: Even locked and password protected devices can be browsed through iExplorer). Download it here and use it to your advantage.
A lot of these security ‘issues’ have everything to do with knowing the platform you are building for. Take for example the backgrounding issue mentioned earlier. ADF Mobile : Implementing the “Pull to Refresh” Pattern
0One very common pattern in Mobile Apps is the use of “pull” to refresh a list of data in an App.
For one of my projects I suggested to use this pattern and I had to figure out a way to implement this in ADF Mobile. In this post I show you a way to implement this. ADF Mobile : Device Interaction API – Pictures, GPS and Email With Attachments

AMIS vat Oracle OpenWorld samen in speciale whitepaper
0Als sluitstuk van de jaarlijkse Oracle OpenWorld conferentie brengt AMIS een whitepaper uit. Een handzaam document waarin het volledige verhaal van Oracle OpenWorld 2012 is gebundeld.
Een team van AMIS was tijdens de conferentie in oktober nadrukkelijk aanwezig; als sponsor, deelnemer, netwerker en spreker – en als aandachtig luisteraar en analist.
Zeven Oracle-specialisten van AMIS hebben deze whitepaper samengesteld waarin de visie, plannen en aankondigingen van Oracle zijn gebundeld. Maak bij AMIS als eerste kennis met Oracle ADF Mobile!
0Oracle heeft afgelopen maandag haar nieuwste product ADF Mobile gelanceerd. Luc Bors, expertise lead ADF bij AMIS, is op verzoek van product managers van Oracle Corporation bètatester geweest. Hij heeft meer dan vier maanden ervaring opgedaan met ADF Mobile. Op 12 november deelt hij die ervaring met u in de eerste ADF Mobile kennissessie in Nederland.
Oracle ADF Mobile is een framework op basis van HTML5 en Java waarmee mobiele apps worden gebouwd voor het iOS en Android platform. De ontwikkeling van ADF Mobile applicaties maakt gebruik van goeddeels dezelfde aanpak, tools, componenten en kennis als voor reguliere ADF web-applicaties worden benut. Iedere ADF-ontwikkelaar is dus in potentie een ADF-mobiele-app-ontwikkelaar. ADF Mobile is zowel bedoeld voor nieuwe apps als om bestaande enterprise applicaties op een tablet of smartphone te ontsluiten. ADF Mobile geeft toegang tot device specifieke functies zoals bijvoorbeeld de camera en maakt het mogelijk om offline met de apps te werken. Maar het belangrijkste is dat bestaande enterprise toepassingen nu ook mobiele platforms bereiken.
