It is not yet a production release, but hey: who cares when you see what it contains in terms of new functionality. Apart from the UIX design time support – which I will miss for current and previous applications and projects that require maintenance – the JDeveloper 10.1.3 has so much new functionality, in so many different areas. Time to get started!

I think we at AMIS can dedicate a number of our Knowledge Center sessions to the new JDeveloper functionality. In the KC Oracle Development Tools or the KC Server Development we can look at the Database Development features – that are gradually building up to the level we are used to with Oracle Designer.
In the KC for Software Engineering, we can investigate the improved integration with Ant, CVS and JUnit, to name but a few.
In the KC Web and Java we can go into many things: ADF Faces, J2SE 5.0 support, refactoring improvements, SDK for Extension Development, improved debugging, UML enhancements, ADF BC and ADF BF improvements, improved XSLT debugging, modernized WebServices functionality etc.
To start with, we have the AMIS Query on ADF Faces, on Thursday 29th September. Let’s take it from there….
