You all know the problem. You want to send that large file to someone, but how? Many email systems restrict the maximum attachment size. I have to send large attachments of several hundreds of megabytes to magazines all over the world quite frequently. There are some services that you could use for this purpose.
My best experience is with http://www.yousendit.com/. They offer the possibility of sending files as large as one GB. The recipient receives an email with a URL to their file, which they can download 25 times within 7 days. Yousendit.com also holds commercial services. You can then have your company logo on the site and you will have no advertisements. You can also track the number of downloads with these paid accounts.

I have also used Otengo. Its free and the most secure and convenieint way of sending large attachments. The download takes place while you are working on your PC, and you can view the files in minutes. I have found it very easy to use. Its quite amazing!
Also check out Otengo. It is a neat product that takes all the hassle out of sending several pictures, videos, and files, all in one email. It also claims to be more secure than regular email – I am not sure how they accomplished that!
You can also try palshare
They allow you to upload complete folders and files and it also zips your files during uploading so the download process is really easy and fast. Seems to work really well.
As a mac user, I typically use the public folder on my .Mac iDisk if I need to transfer files larger than 50MB… the iDisk is easily mounted on Windows or Macs, and you can transfer files even larger than 1GB (although I never have).
For files smaller than 50MB, I just use my Zimbra hosting provider, 01.com. They support up to 50MB attachments, it’s totally secure, and for the customers I routinely send large attachments to, to get around the problems they have in receiving them, I’ve purchased accounts for them, too, since they’re cheap. http://faqs.01.com/#24
Why not send a link to a file on your web- or ftpserver? You can even secure that with a username/password. Simple.
