Our weblog started last July. Since then we had over 250000 hits from over 45000 different IP-addresses. Last night, I sat down to do a comparison between the various browsers used to access our Technology Weblog. And I also looked at the trends since July. It is interesting to see how the balance is shifting.
Last week, 29% of the visits to our Weblog were made from FireFox, with Internet Explorer down to 54%. In July we had 88% Internet Explorer visits.

Hi,
Currently (20 March 2005) Firefox is used by about 23 % of my visitors. The people who visit my web site are very technically orientated. You are free to check my web site statistics.
I am glad to see that FF has such a strong presence on some sites. I am interested to know the global market share of FF. I heard that IE has 90% globally (which is huge). Where is a link that proves it ?

Razvan
Article on Microsoft’s plans for IE 7: Microsoft plans new browser version Gates says Internet Explorer 7 will have security features to prevent viruses, spyware, ‘phishing.’ February 15, 2005: 1:43 PM EST
We just had a discussion here on the rise of FireBird. According to one of my colleagues, FireBird is now on 10% for normal ( 🙂 ) sites.
42% from mozilla based browsers against 54% from IE is really good news! Of course due to the nature of this blog the readers will be more or less tech-savvy and might not be good representations of the average internetuser, but maybe the time for webdesigners to adhere to W3C standards has finally come!
I can agree with that. My homepage (http://www.elysia.nl) has only 62% for explorer when you exclude search engine hits.
