AMIS Query – on developing Web Applications with Oracle development technology: ADF and Application Express side by side (with Dimitri Gielis and Lucas Jellema)

AMIS is proud to announce an AMIS Query on Monday 17th December 2007: Developing Web Applications with Oracle development technology: ADF and Application Express, side by side.

There are many development tools that can be used to develop Web Applications. Two popular Oracle development environments are Application Development Framework (ADF) and Application Express (APEX).

APEX is called Oracle’s alternative for MS Access and both tools have been compared many times. ADF has been compared many times over with other Java development tools. But why not a discussion about the differences and similarities of both Oracle development tools for web applications? Both have their merits, what are reasons and circumstances to choose the one or the other? Many organizations are debating the technology and tools to use for developing new web applications, including custom extensions to E-Business Suite, and they frequently wonder what technology to use.

On Monday 17th December 2007 Dimitri Gielis (APEX guru) and Lucas Jellema (ADF guru) will meet at AMIS in Nieuwegein to talk about and compare APEX and ADF. They will give an overview of both frameworks and share their experiences with you.

Dimitri Gielis is co-founder of “Apex Evangelists” (http://apex-evangelists.com), a company specialized in Oracle Application Express development, training and consultancy. He is Vice President of the IOUG APEX SIG and a promotor of Application Express since 2003. He has a popular weblog (http://dgielis.blogspot.com/) and developed a popular website completely in Application Express (http://www.dgtournament.com).

Lucas Jellema is expertise manager at AMIS. He is Oracle ACE Director and cooperated in many ADF projects.

The query takes place on Monday 17th December 2007. We will start at 16:30 and will last until 21:00.

If you…
.. always wanted to know when to choose ADF and when to go for APEX,
.. considered combining both frameworks but wondered how to do so,
.. want to know more about ADF AND/OR APEX and see them in action,
.. are in the mood for an animated discussion,

you are very welcome to join us at the last AMIS Query of 2007. As always attending the Query is free, as well as diner and drinks. If you want to attend this session, please register at: http://www.amis.nl/oracle-adf .
