Yesterday a presentation was given on unit testing during an Amis (Web) Knowledge Center meeting. The aim was to introduce the JUnit framework and related technologies such as DbUnit and Cactus.

Part I of this presentation introduced (J)unit testing, its integration with IDEs as well as Ant and an elementary demo of the JUnit framework for both an existing Java class and for a test driven development (TDD) case.

Part II surveyed related technologies such as in-container and mocks/stubs-based unit tests. In particular, Cactus was given detailed attention.

Part III consisted of a demo application in which the various aspects of unit testing that were presented before, were applied to a “real-life” example/study application.

Finally, part IV offered the participants the opportunity to practice with JUnit in a small workshop.

You can download the PowerPoint presentation (.ppt, with annotations) or the PDF version (without annotations), as well as the zip file containing the files and the description of the workshop.
