0AMIS is spending a lot of effort keeping our people up-to-date with the latest knowledge needed to help our customers the best way we can. Traditionally we also always try to share our knowledge with customers and others, via social media or conferences, and while abroad learning from others at the same time. It is not always possible to go to those international events to learn from the best, so that’s why we invite, from time to time, those special people over here in Holland. After being able to organize special sessions with Oracle ACE Directors Doug Burns, Pete Finnegan and others, I am now honored to announce a two day masterclass with Oracle ACE Director James Morle on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th of June 2013.

0Of je nu ‘klassieke’ Oracle applicaties ontwikkelt, met APEX bezig bent, een SOA landschap inricht of een Java/JEE (bijvoorbeeld ADF) applicatie bouwt: het fundament van veel van wat je doet is de database. En de crux van optimaal gebruik van de database is en blijft SQL. Dit bepaalt performance en schaalbaarheid en ook ontwikkel-productiviteit en zelfs pure functionaliteit. SQL kan veel meer in de Oracle Database dan de meeste – ook heel ervaren ontwikkelaars – weten. Tussen Oracle7 en Oracle 11gR2 is er met eigenlijk iedere release enorm veel kracht bijgekomen in de handen van “SQL componisten”. En je doet jezelf tekort als je niet regelmatig je SQL vaardigheden aanscherpt tot de nieuwste technische mogelijkheden en vooral de praktijkbewezen evolutie.
Op maandag 10 december verzorgt AMIS – Oracle specialist in Nieuwegein, sinds 1991 – een Masterclass Advanced SQL. Waarin voor ervaren SQL ontwikkelaars een overzicht wordt gegeven van de evolutie van de database – tot en met 11g Release 2 en met hier en daar al een vooruitblik naar 12c.

5 november: Masterclass SOA voor Oracle Database Professionals
0Op maandag 5 november geeft Peter Ebell een één-daagse Masterclass SOA voor Oracle Database Professionals. Deze training wordt gegeven in het kantoor van AMIS in Nieuwegein. Deze Masterclass geeft een overzicht van de belangrijkste concepten binnen SOA. Aan de orde komen Web Services en belangrijke mechanismen zoals XML, XSD, SOAP en WSDL. Tevens wordt de rol van BPEL en de Oracle Service Bus (OSB) beschreven. Vervolgens behandelen we de vele manieren waarop de Oracle SOA Suite – zowel OSB als BPEL – de interactie kan aangaan met de Oracle Database, onder andere door middel van de Database Adapter en de AQ Adapter. Ook de out-of-the-box mogelijkheden van de Oracle Database voor het beschikbaar stellen en aanroepen van web services passeren de revue.
Deze Masterclass is bedoeld voor Oracle Database-Ontwikkelaars en DBA’s die aan de slag zijn, of gewoon meer willen weten, over Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). Dus:
Van de deelnemers wordt verwacht dat zij voorkennis hebben van SQL en PL/SQL. Daarbij is enige jaren ervaring met Oracle Database-Ontwikkeling of –administratie nuttig, maar niet strikt noodzakelijk.

AMIS Query: An Evening with Oracle ACE Director Doug Burns…
0On the 18th of June I am very happy to have arranged an internal mini masterclass for my DBA colleagues and some AMIS customer DBA peers. The evening before on the Thursday the 17th of June (btw. no important World Cup soccer games going on during this Thursday evening) Doug agreed to present his “How I learned to Love Pictures – Oracle 10g/11g Performance Analysis Using OEM” presentation, he held, among others, during the Oracle Open World 2009 Unconference sessions and this years Hotsos 2010 Symposium.
