AMIS presenteert "Verslag van Oracle Open World en Java One 2010'

Voor het vijfde achtereenvolgende jaar organiseert AMIS deze openbare bijeenkomst waarin uitgebreid verslag wordt gedaan van de belangrijkste conferenties van het jaar: Oracle Open World en JavaOne. Op woensdag 6 oktober openen we vanaf 16.30 uur de deuren en start om 17.00 de presentatie door de vijf AMIS-medewerkers die dit jaar OOW en JavaOne bezoeken en daar zelf ook presenteren. Onderbroken door diner gaan we door tot pakweg 21.00 uur. De grootste nieuwtjes en meest opvallende trends, de belangrijkste thema’s en sfeerimpressies passeren de revue, maar zeker ook de verhalen achter de schermen. De presentatie omvat ook een toekomstverwachting op verschillende technologie-terreinen.

Van 19-23 september 2010 werd  in San Francisco de jaarlijke Oracle Open World conferentie gehouden. Gelijktijdig – of: als onderdeel van OOW – is ook JavaOne georganiseerd. In vijf dagen wordt door medewerkers van Oracle – maar ook van andere leveranciers en open source projecten – de status en toekomst-strategie rond Oracle (inclusief voormalige Sun en BEA) technologie toegelicht en gepresenteerd. What questions to get answered at Java One 2010

It is a very early morning in Redwood City. I am currently in a hotel with a great view on the imposing towers of Oracle’s Head Quarters (although it is dark and only a vague outline of the towers can actally be discerned). The largest Oracle show on the planet, the yearly Oracle Open World conference, is about to commence. This year, the largest Java show on Earth – JavaOne – has been incorporated, so that is about to get going too.

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and top development executive Thomas Kurian are scheduled to discuss “Oracle’s vision for strengthened investment and innovation in Java and describe how Java will continue to grow as the most powerful, scalable, secure, and open platform for the global developer community,” according to an official description of their planned talk.

Today, I will be in the Oracle ACE Director product briefing.
