Book Review: Quick Start Guide to Oracle Fusion Development
0A couple of weeks ago yet another ADF book was released. This time it was Grant Ronald’s turn. He managed to write a “Quick Start Guide to Oracle Fusion Development”. I was somewhat worried because it is seemingly impossible to write a Quick Start Guide to Fusion Development. AMIS Query – Verslag van Oracle Open World 2009 – dinsdag 27 oktober (uitnodiging)
Vorige week was in San Francisco het hoogtepunt van het Oracle jaar: Oracle Open World 2009, de grootste IT conferentie ter wereld. Tijdens deze conferentie ontvouwde Oracle haar strategie en visie voor de komende periode, lieten product managers de nabije toekomst zien van bestaande en nieuwe producten, deelden honderden specialisten hun ervaringen en toonden leveranciers en Oracle engineers op de demo-grounds de nieuwste snufjes. Ca. 40.000 bezoekers waren aanwezig in het hart van San Francisco om zich vijf dagen lang te laten overvoeren met Oracle weetjes.
Als je er bij was vind je het misschien leuk nog eens herinneringen op te halen en ervaringen te bespreken. Als je er niet bij was ben je misschien geinteresseerd in de belangrijkste aankondigingen, de mooiste demo’s en wetenswaardigste feiten. Dat kan, aanstaande dinsdag op de AMISÂ Query – Verslag van Oracle Open World 2009. OOW 2009 – And they call that a "patch set"? Marvels coming up in ADF 11gR1 PS 1
Last Friday I attended a product briefing at Oracle HQ that prepared me for today’s Oracle Open World 2009 keynote presentation by Ted Farrell on development tools and middleware. Oracle will soon (some time November?) release what it calls Patch Set 1 for the Fusion Middleware 11g stack and this article goes into the new bits and pieces that we will see coming up in JDeveloper 11g and ADF 11g. Which clearly demonstrates that ‘patch set’ is misnomer of sorts. Sure enough, there will patches – fixes for bugs – in this release, but the list of new functionality and features (Duncan Mills boasted about 550+ new features) make it clear that there is much more to it than just patches. I was more than a little (pleasantly) surprised with this list. Let me share some of the details- and unfortunately I cannot demonstrate anything at this point as the software is not yet available.
Some of the common themes that link the new elements together include developer productivity (and fun), team productivity, end user experience and best practices.
