Getting started with … your career (in Dutch)

Als bezoeker van deze blog ben je bezig met het maken van mooie oplossingen en nieuwe uitdagingen op technisch gebied. AMIS nodigt je uit om ons team te komen versterken. AMIS wil je op het gebied van Oracle en Java uitdagen de volgende stap in je carrière nemen.
AMIS merkt al enige maanden dat de markt voor Oracle en Java opdrachten aan het aantrekken is en maakt dat concreet met het uitvoeren van innovatieve opdrachten.
Om je een beeld te geven van het werk bij AMIS volgt hieronder een lijst met de trajecten waar we de afgelopen maanden aan gewerkt hebben.
- OSB / SOA Suite implementatie bij een grote informatieverwerkende organisatie.

- Webservice koppeling met ADF en JAX WS voor een grote gemeente.

We zoeken Oracle, SOA, Java developers die als medewerker van AMIS de vervolgopdrachten gaan uitvoeren. En denk niet direct dat je hiervoor te weinig kennis of ervaring hebt: jouw toekomstige ervaren collega’s doen niets liever dan jou verder helpen. Castle in the clouds – Building the Connexys SaaS application with Fusion Middleware

SaaS applications serve users in many organizations from a single application instance running in a cloud. Common SaaS requirements include: customization including hiding and adding fields, managing boilerplate text & influencing the look & feel and a Service API for retrieving and manipulating data as well as allowing registration of listeners – applications outside the cloud that are notified by the SaaS application of events. Deep link navigation into the SaaS application allows visual integration with local applications.
Connexys provides a SaaS application (150+ customers) to support human resource and recruitment processes. The Connexys NextGen application is developed on Fusion Middleware using ADF. The application has an impressive number of specific SaaS enhancements (some inspired by Salesforce.com) that make it a compelling & competitive SaaS offering.

OOW 2009: Castle in the Clouds: SaaS-Enabling Oracle ADF Faces Applications

It will be my last presentation at Oracle Open World 2009 – how to turn any ADF application into a SaaS application – an application suitable for deployment ‘on the cloud – available to users from different organizations’. One of my statements is that most if not all applications benefit from applying those same SaaS concepts. It makes applications running within the walls of an enterprise more agile, more manageable, better suited to the specific needs of individual users and user groups and easier to integrate in the IT landscape of the enterprise, both at the services level (SOA, ESB) and at the user interface level (Portlet). The presentation will discuss a number of facilities and characteristics that are desirable in SaaS applications as well as other Web Applications.

Last preprations and first impressions from JavaOne 2009 – guess who is not a sponsor (not even an iron or wood level?)

As JavaOne – preceded by CommunityOne which kicks off tomorrow morning – is approaching fast, this might be a good moment to discuss some of the early rumours, the expectations and certainly the questions that this year’s edition of JavaOne will hopefully answer over the next 5 days or so.
One remarkable thing: Last year, Oracle was the platinum sponsor of JavaOne 2008. This year, Oracle acquired Sun (or at least made a deal with Sun’s board of directors). Whether they are now short on cash and could not afford the sponsorship or whether through Sun Oracle will be visible all the same or whatever the reason is: Oracle is not a sponsor and apparently is not even on the Java Pavilion. So Big Red, who swallowed BEA with the WebLogic, Aqualogic and Plumtree products, Collaxa/BPEL, Coherence DataGrid, EclipseLink, Apache Trinidad, … , is not very visible. I noticed a few presentations by Oracle speakers, so there is some presence but it is minimal.

Google goes into browsers too – challenging Internet Explorer and Firefox and launching the SaaS VM to really challenge the fat client

Normally important news on IT subjects comes to me via IT media – blogs, discussion forums, newsletters and rumors & gossip. This morning, my newspaper carried the story on Google’s browser initiative: Google Chrome. A web-browser – "that aims to push forward Internet innovation and elevate user expectations". Just what we needed – in a landscape of browers, browser versions and browser ports to various platforms – Google does not choose to put all its weight behind one of the existing open source browser initiatives. Instead, if launches a new browser altogether. However, even though it is a browser, should we consider Chrome as merely a browser initiative?
