In October 2006, AMIS was one of the early partners in the Oracle RDBMS 11g Beta program. Over the past months we have worked with a series of beta-releases, that we analyzed for various dimensions and many pieces of new functionality. Among the focus areas for our investigations are of course SQL & PL/SQL. Additionally – line with our overall focus – we focused on SOA and the role the database can play in Service Oriented Architectures. XML DB is one of the areas associated with SOA that we have dived into. Of course Administration aspects, such as Migration, Performance, Availability and Scalability were among the topics researched.

With the release of the Oracle 11g RDBMS on 11th July 2007 – we have been cleared to start publishing about our experiences. This page assembles the most interesting 11g related posts on our weblog.
