Turns out there are a bunch of “free” plugins that are really timebombed commercial products or otherwise severely crippled. I was really hoping that Together (bought out by Borland) would have a community edition that was available for Eclipse integration. Sadly, they DID, but it doesn’t appear to be available anymore. After seeing some screenshots in a blog, I decided to give Omondo’s EclipseUML a whirl since they had a free edition that wasn’t timebombed. The extent to which they cripple the free edition didn’t seem to encumber what functionality I needed out of it. I tried more than once with "Eclipse SDK-3.1M4" and "eclipseUML 301 2.0.0.beta20041026" on a Windows XP Pro box (SP2 installed). It freezes when I try to add a class into a Class Diagram. I've installed the version for E3 but haven't used it yet. The E2 version was quite nice and we actually use it within WSAD where I worked instead of Rational Rose.
