Waldo,

We were discussing this announcement yesterday as well. Integrating Flex based portlets into JSF pages will be very easy. That allows for leveraging some of the rich UI capabilities Flex offers in an environment familiar to Java developers. It certainly opens up opportunities.

UI are the next big thing for SOA, if you ask me. We need Service Oriented Clients ;-)

I also wonder what your view is on the following: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/061023/sfm090.html?.v=70 (Adobe and Oracle announcement regarding Adobe Flex). "This integration will work with the current generation of Oracle Portal and with future user interaction environments being developed by Oracle. Oracle and Adobe intend to drive innovation in rich client portal integration within the JSR168, JSR286 and WSRP2.0 Portlet standards working groups.". Also see http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex2_portal.html
