Thanks for this tip. I was aware of that - I just wanted to see whether I could get the demos running on a fresh environment. I am more interested in learning how to leverage CometD in my own web applications, running on generic Servlet Containers and not being dependent on Jetty.

If you type &#039;mvn jetty:run&#039; inside theÂ cometd-demo directory maven will start jetty with the demo&#039;s project. Should be able to see them on localhost:8080. Saves you installing tomcat and netbeans and some clicking.
