Two Nobel price winners already solved most of the problems about size and energy reduction.  No need for Oracle to re-invent the wheel. Nobody solved the problem about speed. I/O throughput. Compression will not solved this (probably the contrary), partitioning will not solve energy problems (will help, can help in selectivity). The &quot;three tier storage&quot; is just a PR re-invention of IBM&#039;s disk data spread idea&#039;s (data in the middle, in between and on the outside disk). The whole three tier idea will not solve speed issues and will not solve &quot;energy&quot; reduction. So nice packaged content without any solution. Spend your money in fast small disk serviced via a lot of channels. In the end this will outlive your license fee.]]></description>
