Nice reference by Anthony Reynolds:<a href="http://blogs.oracle.com/reynolds/2006/07/11#a102" rel="nofollow">http://blogs.oracle.com/reynolds/2006/07/11#a102</a>

More on ESB - 11/07/2006

There are a couple of interesting posts on the Amis blog about some ESB training my colleague Sandor ran in the Netherlands.
One by Lucas Jellema gives an overview of the ESB another by Harm Vershcuren relates ESB to InterConnect.
At the Oracle Architects Forum earlier this year I was asked about the future of InterConnect. I remember thinking, 'I have the EMEA VP of Technology sat in front of me, I'd better get this right' as I silently cursed the questioner. Basic story is InterConnect has no future in terms of further developments. ESB and BPEL between them replace InterConnnect. However a lot of people have a large investment in InterConnect and so Oracle will be supporting InterConnect for a long time to come. New developments should look at using ESB when it becomes available. Existing InterConnect developers need to consider when is the best time to start building in ESB and BPEL and slowly moving away from InterConnect.

André. We briefly discussed Oracle WSM (WebServices Manager). It is included in the SOA Suite and will therefore not be part of the ESB. It will of course closely integrate with the ESB but the ESB can be used without WSM and vice versa. I have not yet seen the integration between the ESB and OWSM in action.
