How do you lock, version, update the documents when you didn’t install clientsoftware?

In the early days when Oracle released IFS (among others with WebDAV functionality) for the first time, it had already Oracle Search features enabled in Windows Explorer in the same “explorer added fucntionality right click” fashion. I hope they will provide more Portal control via explorer in the final release.

Anyway – why should i have to install a plugin in the first place. WebDAV is all about web access (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) without using plug-ins . As said… missed chances.
